The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry are working together to implement the National Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy – 2020 and Beyond.
The National AMR Strategy guides Australia's efforts across human and animal health, as well as food, agriculture and environment sectors to:
- minimise the development and spread of AMR
- ensure all sectors work together to reduce antimicrobial use
- review and report on AMR progress.
