AURA 2021: Fourth Australian report on antimicrobial use and resistance in human health

The report builds on AURA 2019 and provides a comprehensive picture of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), antimicrobial use and the appropriateness of antimicrobial prescribing in Australia, in hospitals, aged care, general practice and the community.

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care released its Fourth Australian report on antimicrobial use and resistance in human health (AURA 2021) in August 2021 to continue provision of surveillance data and raise awareness of trends in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the hospital and community settings. AURA 2021 also highlights priorities for prevention and control of AMR and improvement of antimicrobial use (AU).
